The "Circular Economy Hotspot" international conference and demonstration exchange program, which has been hosted by European countries for many years. Taiwan has been selected to host the first inaugural Asia-Australasia Circular Economy Hotspot next year.
The "Circular Economy Hotspot" was initiated by Holland Circular Hotspot in 2016 and has since been held annually in various European countries.This year's circular economy hotspot event took place in Wales,UK. (link). It has been a significant platform for circular economy practitioners to exchange, connect and learn from each other. In previous years, the Circular Taiwan Network organized delegations to participate in events held in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Scotland, and Ireland. Many delegates have become the backbone of the circular economy community in Taiwan.
For the Asia-Australasia edition, the Circular Taiwan Network represented Taiwan in the bid process. In the final selection, Charles Huang, Chairman of the Circular Taiwan Network, CEO Shadow Chen, and Ying-Ying Lai, Director General of the Resource Circulation Administration of Taiwan's Ministry of Environment, shared Taiwan's progress and vision for a circular economy with the judging panel at the Circular Economy Hotspot in Cardiff, Wales.The judging panel announced Taiwan’s win during the welcome reception on the first day, expressing their appreciation at the progress Taiwan has already achieved.
