Overview

Over the past decade, Circular Hotspot Events have been hosted across multiple countries, serving as a global platform that connects local initiatives with international exchange, and advancing the transition from circular economy concepts to real-world implementation.

This webinar offers a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of Circular Hotspot Events. Organisers from Europe, Africa, and Asia will share practical insights and experiences from implementing Hotspots in diverse regional contexts. Shadow Chen, Advisor of the Circular Taiwan Network, will represent Taiwan and share insights from hosting the first-ever Circular Hotspot in the Asia-Pacific region, highlighting how local action can connect with global momentum.

Key topics include:

  • What Circular Hotspot Events look like in practice across different regions
  • The motivations and starting points behind initiating a Hotspot
  • What works — and what doesn’t — in delivering a successful event
  • Designing events that are engaging, inclusive, and circular by design
  • Key challenges, lessons learned, and milestone achievements

Participants will also get a first look at upcoming Circular Hotspot Events (2026–2027) around the world.

This is not a standard webinar, but a session focused on real experiences, honest reflections, and actionable insights for practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders in the circular economy field.
