On June 17, Chairman Charles Huang of the Circular Taiwan Network attended the APEC Workshop on Enhancing SMEs’ Green Competitiveness through Digital Innovation as a keynote speaker. He introduced the “2+3=5” circular transformation framework, emphasizing that 2 Mindsets + 3 Objectives/Goals = 5 Strategies/Measures. Starting with a good idea, businesses are called to take action now and work together toward a more resilient and sustainable future.
“Circular Action 2+3=5” is not just a slogan — it is a concrete pathway that businesses can activate now. Supporting businesses in transforming good ideas into actionable and sustainable innovations.
2 Mindsets :
The first step toward a circular economy begins with two mindset shifts; Redefining needs and Redesigning business models. These shifts help businesses break free from the constraints of linear thinking.
3 Objectives/Goals :
Once the mindset is reset, companies can focus on three core objectives:
- Decoupling economic growth from resource consumption
- Enhancing circularity through efficient resource reuse
- Leveraging digitalization to drive circular innovation
5 Strategies/Measures :
Ultimately, businesses must become proactive strategists by implementing five key circular actions:
- Beyond ownership
- Beyond production
- Beyond the material supply chain
- Beyond waste
- Beyond disposal
