On June 14, 2018, Shadow, Chen Huilin, Executive Director of the Taiwan Circular Economy Network, and Freek van Eijk, Chief Executive Officer of the Holland Circular Hotspot, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Utrecht. With the presence of Representative Tom Zhou Taizhu of Taiwan and Lai Yingying, Director-General of the Department of Waste Management of the Environmental Protection Administration, they will work together to promote the cooperation on the issues of circular economy.

Both committed to international exchanges and the application of in-depth knowledge to practice, they decided to sign a two-year MoU to further expand cooperation. Major projects for cooperation include the sharing of practical experience and methods, the promotion of exchanges of policy experience between the governments of both sides, the sharing of business opportunities for both sides, the co-organization of international activities on circular economy, and the promotion of cooperation among countries.

This memorandum is expected to promote a more comprehensive exchange between Taiwan and the Netherlands, focusing on the circular economy of the industries of health and food, plastics, manufacturing, construction, consumer goods and electronics, and to increase the possibility for Taiwan to host international activities on circular economy.
